Ángel Miguel León Valiente (San Antonio de los Baños, 1990) is a Cuban visual artist based in Barcelona. Despite his training in engraving, he has stood out mainly in painting, seeking to stand out in the Cuban art scene. His work is characterized by his sincerity in the creative process, exploring emotions and personal reflections with a poetic approach to connect with the viewer. He uses drawing and oil on canvas techniques in large dimensions, in a figurative style with timeless elements and metaphorical relationships. Plus, he incorporates worn, sepia-toned family photos to add a sense of the past. His work arises from psychological introspection, addressing topics such as family, couples, identity and political concerns, all with the aim of expressing his individuality and connecting intellectually and emotionally with the viewer.
