A guardian is a person or an animal who is responsible for guarding, protecting or watching something.
Nuria Torres’ guardians are animals : big, small, aggressive, friendly and even invisible. And all of them with a mission : looking after an object which preserve secrets.
The objects are from the ordinary and everyday life, made of noble materials as the stone or the wood that allow to reproduce the details and textures truly and realistically, in which the symbolism is very present, it surprises the viewer and conveys originality and dexterity.
A constant and homogeneous dialog is created between the guardians, a language that allows to decipher the secrets they are protecting and that transforms the classicism into a contemporary aesthetic.
