Javier de Cea – Code switching II

My work primarily focuses on painting, creating compositions based on their own qualities and aptitudes. More than a representative medium, I perceive it as the culmination of its own nature. It’s something autonomous that, through its gesturalism, strokes, and varied graphic and aesthetic resources, generates my pictorial work. As for my sculptures, unlike my paintings, they are representative. They depict doodles, non-representational strokes liberated from all academic techniques, emerging in the early years of our lives, out of the need for expression.
